Meet Our
Missional
Artists
The Create Commission empowers artists by securing the resources they need to make a meaningful impact in their communities. By providing guidance, financial backing, and essential support, we enable our Missional Artists to fully devote themselves to their creative and missional calling. These artists use their gifts to foster cultural and spiritual transformation, and through the generosity of funders, they can thrive in their work—impacting lives, inspiring hope, and representing the Kingdom in the communities they serve.
Tiesha Harrison
After losing her sister to domestic violence, Tiesha Harrison committed her art practice to healing and advocacy. Through the Sunflower Soul Project, she provided trauma-informed, creative expression workshops that offer individuals and families impacted by violence a safe space to grieve, heal, and rediscover hope. Grounded in biblical truth, Tiesha’s work reflects the power of redemption—turning pain into purpose through bold storytelling and meaningful community engagement. With your support, she can expand her reach, offering more opportunities for people to encounter God’s healing through creative workshops and engagement with her visual art. Partner with us in empowering Tiesha to be a light in broken places and equip her to create more opportunities to demonstrate the power of art as a tool for restoration.
Johnny Kerr
Johnny Kerr is a multidisciplinary contemplative artist, teacher, and mentor whose painting practice primarily investigates mysterious truths of the unseen as revealed in Jesus of Nazareth. Through his work Johnny has developed a Jesus-centered visual vocabulary that uses both figurative and abstract forms to explore the tension between the hidden and perceived realities. Johnny’s desire is to engage in honest inquiry and dialogue about our shared experience as physical and spiritual beings. His work provokes and invites a community hermeneutic whereby artist and viewer uncover meaning and steward mystery together. Support Johnny by providing him the time, space, and resources needed to complete his current body of work. This project will involve partnerships with organizations, churches, and galleries to curate dialogue and teachings around the work, while also creating opportunities for him to mentor fellow artists—offering guidance, encouragement, and spiritual friendship.
Micah Bentley
Micah Bentley is a musician, worship pastor, and spiritual director who uses his gifts to create spaces of transcendence, reflection, and connection with God. As the worship & arts pastor at Axiom Church, Micah leads others in authentic, spirit-filled worship, helping people encounter Christ through song and communal worship. Beyond the church, he serves as a spiritual director for artists and musicians, walking alongside creatives as they navigate faith, artistry, and calling. Micah also facilitates ongoing community events like 2nd Saturdays art walk in Peoria where the local community can engage with the arts and experience hospitality. Supporting Micah enables him to expand his discipleship of emerging artists and creatives, while also creating and sharing music that facilitates moments of peace and openness to God’s spirit.
Denson Creative
Michael and Charith Denson, the husband-and-wife team behind Denson Creative, are visual artists and community leaders dedicated to harnessing the power of art and creativity as a means of spiritual renewal, individual well-being, and community transformation. In 2025 they opened their first brick and mortar gallery and event space, The Monastery in Peoria, AZ, creating a space where the arts can be a sacred practice and one can experience how art, faith, and everyday life intertwine. The Monastery offers workshops, artist-led experiences, and gatherings that invite people into deeper reflection, healing, and revelation through the act of creating. By supporting their work, you are investing in a ministry that provides space where fellow TCC artists can flourish and community members alike can encounter the beauty and truth of God through the arts.
